pushparaj santhosh Posted December 19, 2023 Posted December 19, 2023 Hi all I just want to know how this shafts of light were created? Does it depend on the type of light we use? And what kind of lights can achieve this effect?
Victoria Sagady Posted December 19, 2023 Posted December 19, 2023 Spotlight or elipsoidal with a sharp focus. Haze in the room. Camera is on an axis where there is more particulate in the air between it and the source so all that particulate is lit up and back lit. Would be visible from the audience but not as starkly. The angle makes all the difference 1
pushparaj santhosh Posted December 19, 2023 Author Posted December 19, 2023 @Victoria SagadyThank you I just want to know whether this same effect be created with other open faced lights like M18, M40 or with lights like Orbit with spot light attachment?
Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted December 19, 2023 Premium Member Posted December 19, 2023 Hazed set and ellipsoidal spot light (like a Source-4 Leko, etc.). You can certainly spotlight someone with an M18 with a spot lens but you won't get the sharp beam and circular pattern on the floor. Even something like a Molebeam won't create a neat circle like that. But there are now some projector lens attachments for the ARRI Orbiter: https://www.arri.com/en/lighting/led/orbiter/accessories/optics/projection 1
