Eye relief on K2/K3

Has anyone come up with a solution for the terrible eye relief/eye point on the Krasnogorsk cameras? It's completely unusable with glasses, but even with my glasses off and the eyecup crammed into my eye socket I can't reliably see the whole frame.

This weekend I'm going to try turning down the eyepiece flange and widening the aperture as much as I can on the lathe, since it seems to be at least partially a mechanical vignetting problem, but I don't yet know how much meat I'll be able to take out.
