James Knowles
I’m an NC based gaffer and best boy looking to repair an older Arrisun 1.2K HMI. The unit won’t strike, and I’ve narrowed the source of the problem down to the header cable receiver on the lamphead, but don’t know where to go from there, as my electrical repair training is amateur. And advice or tips would be appreciated.
Premium Member Sebastian Bock Posted December 8, 2024 Premium Member Share Posted December 8, 2024 James, you really should not repair high voltage devices when your repair skill level is amateur. Please - leave that to the professionals. I know, that was not an answer to your question, but when I saw your question, I felt an urgent need to send you this appeal. No offense 😉 I guess, no serious professional would give an amateur tips in an Internet forum, how to hot wire high voltage devices. Who would take responsibility if something goes wrong? I appreciate the appeal. I eventually decided not to continue with the work after a more experienced friend explained to me just how complex the internals of an HMI were. Again, thanks for the candid response.
