Hello everyone.

I write big book about cinema lighting - "The Character of Light". It should be little more scientific than other similar books but still very simple to understand.

I try to prove that only emission spectrum can give full information about the quality of any light. So, every type of the light what I discuss in the book I illustrate with its real spectrum measured by myself.

I have many spectra in my collection for this moment. But I still can't find real examples of spectra of few light sources:

1). Old fashioned Fresnel cored Carbon Arcs.

2). Luminys Lightning Strikes.

3). Hive Lighting Sulphur Plasma light.

Unfortunately I live in Russia - the most closed and most sanctioned country in the world. And there are no one such working fixtures here. At the same timeĀ it's very difficult and very expensive for me to move to NY or LA to find that working fixtures by myself. I nave no any financial support - only my own money.

So, my question and shout for help - can I ask someone to find that working fixtures somewhere in the world and measure spectra and TM-30 color rendition indexes for me?

I have spectrometer Sekonic C-800 and use it for my illustrations. It's enough. The example of illustration You can see below.

Data what I need - spectral distribution of the lighting unit in stable condition, CCT, CCi, CC#, Rf, Rg and TM-30 color vectors circle.

You might try contacting Tim Kang at Aperture, he runs the Academy's color science testing of lights and he might have some figures for old carbon arc lighting.

Thank You. I will try to contact to Tim Kang.

I tried to ask my questions to Mole Richardson and ARRI but they haven't answered me.

Meanwhile there are two videos on YouTube where Larry Parker operates Carbon Arc fixture in Mole Richardson home office in LA. It was 2013. Perhaps that units are still alive.

Unfortunately I have nobody in LA who could help me with that fixtures and my measurements.
