Does this look like the same lens to you?

I purchased this Canon 8-64 Super 16mm zoom lens from seller, but I think they sent me the wrong lens.

• The first image is the one they sent me before the purchase.
• The second image is what I actually received.
• The mount looks different (I ordered a PL mount, but I received a B4 mount).
• The aperture markings are more worn than in the original photo.
• Overall, the condition is worse, and I suspect they sent me a different lens.

Here’s what happened:

• I made the payment on January 29.
• After that, seller contacted the 2nd seller and requested them to ship the lens.
• The seller sent the lens to them, and then seller claimed they were sending it to a service center for inspection before shipping it to me.
• However, after a month passed with no updates, I asked about the delay.
• Seller then told me that the service center had provided the wrong address, so they had to recall the package and resend it.
• Finally, after March 7, I received the package.
• But when I opened it, I found that it was a B4 mount instead of the PL mount I ordered.
• I can’t even use this lens on my SR3 because I don’t have an adapter for B4 mounts.

Looking at the images, it seems they sent me a completely different lens than the one they originally showed me.

What do you guys think? What should I do in this situation? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Seems simple. If it's not as described, and if it doesn't have the mount you asked for it isn't, send it back.

I don't know about consumer protection in your country, and it doesn't really apply to this, but in the UK/EU you don't even need a reason to send an item back.

Yep, you got a different lens. They made these for 3 chip CCD cameras as well as 16mm. You don’t want a B4 mount version. 
 

Definitely call them out and demand a refund.

Actually, looking again, I don't think your zoom is the B4 version. They look quite different. Could it be an Aaton mount?

At any rate, not what they advertised.

It could be an Aaton mount, in which case it is likely possible to send it in for conversion. (I had my 7-63mm PL converted to Aaton.) The focus ring looks entirely different, though, so it's clearly not the same lens.

I think the focus ring is actually the same, but the rubber grip has been shifted up.

No idea.

I didn't know this was a personal import and obviously I have no knowledge of your customs regulations.

It may be cheaper for you to change the mount- I know nothing about that either.

it indeed looks like the Aaton mount.  the B4 mount has a locating pin on the lens side of the mount and cp16 mount is different looking as well.

getting the customs back by returning purchased stuff abroad should be possible if you can prove it has left the country etc but would be tons of frustration and paperwork. If the mount can be just changed would probably be much easier and the seller could refund the extra costs caused by the mount change

As far as I know, there is no place in Korea that offers mount conversion services.
This means I would have to go through the hassle of shipping it overseas again.
Plus, there’s also the issue of customs fees.

I missed that. Looks like you’re right. I’m still going with different lens entirely because the metric focus marks are blue on the Aaton mount one? But I could be wrong about that, too.

Oh it’s a different lens for sure, but they are the same design I mean.

They're not just different colors, they're actually different numbers

The foot focus marks on the left-hand lens go 20-10-5-4, while the focus marks on the right-hand lens are 8-6-4-3-2.5

So.. not like they misunderstood what you wanted and changed the mount before shipping, it's definitely a different lens.

On the plus side (such as it is), if it comes to this there are parts available to convert the lens to a PL mount.
