Yoshua Gerry Sanjaya Posted Tuesday at 08:32 AM Posted Tuesday at 08:32 AM Hi Guys, I was wondering if it is possible to create a beam splitter rig with FX 3 like Hoyte Van Hoytema did for Ad Astra and Nope ? I saw the BTS of nope and Ad Astra he's using some sort of infrared camera setup in a beam splitter rig to get the black of the sky and shadow of the image. ' I wonder if it possible to use this kind of setup with 2 an FX 3. One of those will be modified to be a full spectrum camera so it can capture the infrared footage. I found a company in german who make a stereoscopic rig for smaller camera. Any possible issued that you guys see might happen ? I need some research first if I want to convince my producer to convert FX3 to a full spectrum camera.
Albion Hockney Posted Tuesday at 07:06 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:06 PM You can do this setup with any camera that will fit into a beam splitter (which should be pretty much any camera) the trickier part other then all the hardships of shooting with a beam splitter is the post work to composite the images and get the color to work right
Geffen Avraham Posted Tuesday at 07:48 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:48 PM You will need two FX3s, one regular and one full spectrum. I have some stereotec rigs just like above and would be happy to sell one, but it’s huge and heavy

Do I have to change the lenses on both cameras each time I change the lens and focus?
