Looking to buy a barney for Arriflex SR2/3

Hi there, is here anyone selling a Barney for a Arriflex SR?

I'm also wondering how much they actually reduce the noise? Is it really that useful?

Im afraid that my SR2 is a little bit too loud for indoor dialogue scenes, so I'm looking for some solutions...

I think they are supposed to be quiet enough to shoot dialog no problem. might want to check there aren't other issues effecting the camera?

Sr 1 and 2 cameras are not whisper quiet cameras like an Aaton XTR Prod or an sr3, so a barney is a must in small places...

In the UK, one rental company (Joe Dunton's) made a blimp for the SR1 & 2 for shooting dramas. From memory, it just covered the camera and not the lens.

if you can't find one, you can get it custom made. Someone who does leatherworks like bags, purses and such could probably make one easily if you get the dimensions and can bring the camera for test fitting. You could ask them to add logos and stuff to it too to make it really cool looking 😄

If the camera is noisier than usual it should be checked. CLA would probably bring the noise down considerably and would also reduce wear to the mechanism if there is some small issue with it

IIRC that was a big change over the BL- it didn't (or wasn't supposed to) need a lens blimp.

I was referring to the Arri 16 SR 2 cameras (as mentioned in the article), I gather it was used on a number of productions. Panavision bought Joe Dunton rentals.

It was more of a hard enclosure, than soft like a barney.
