Methods for transporting film

Hi guys, if you wanted to send exposed film from Canada to the US what would be the safest method of doing so? Cost is less of an issue, but ideally I'd like to keep it under a few hundred dollars if possible.

My concern with mailing is the chance of random checks using x-ray (I'm not sure if they use CT also). I could in theory pay a courier, though I don't know if that mitigates the risk?

We have had allot of film come from Canada to Cinelab by FedEx and DHL without any issues.

Some prod companies have also sent courriers with film from Canada but I am not sure what arrangements they make with the airlines for that.
