Edith blazek Posted June 14, 2025 Posted June 14, 2025 You know how reds have prores but nobody uses that? I wonder if it's the same for the Venice 2. I remember hearing about people using codecs other than raw on the original Venice though.
Brian Drysdale Posted June 16, 2025 Posted June 16, 2025 I suspect using ProRes on the camera depends on the production's workflow. Many TV dramas use ProRes, so that could be a factor in deciding which way to go.
Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted June 16, 2025 Premium Member Posted June 16, 2025 I've used ProRes 4444 Log on every TV series I've ever shot on Alexas and the Alexa 35 now, except for the occasional raw recording for VFX or some other reason. But I just shot a small feature on the Alexa 35 and we recorded Arriraw.

But I'm just not sure about the others
Edith blazek Posted June 27, 2025 Author Posted June 27, 2025 Bump. Arris, but I don't hear about using prores on reds or the Venice 2, unless someone wants to say to the contrary.
