Jared Hall Posted June 18, 2025 Posted June 18, 2025 I have a .7x adapter for a vintage lens but to use it I need to custom make a clamp that can thread into the .7x and clamp onto the lens. I’m not too experienced with getting custom parts like this made or even sure if it’s possible without having contacts at large companies. any insight on someone who may be able to help out would be much appreciated
Premium Member Duncan Brown Posted June 20, 2025 Premium Member Posted June 20, 2025 I only have experience with these folks for fitting still-camera large format lenses to large format shutters, but they would appear to be up for just about any lens-related machining you could throw at them. Of course, you pay dearly for their experience and attention to detail. https://skgrimes.com/ Duncan

Scheduled a trip up to them in person to get a custom mounting solution made. Very excited to see how it turns out, they are quite possibly the only option for something like this it would seem. Thanks again for the rec.

Excellent work from S.K. Grimes, had them make the custom adapter, trim the petals off the ultra wide & make a custom lens cap. No vignetting with the 9.8mm. Thank you very much for the recommendation!
