Geffen Avraham Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 I am looking to shoot an feature in low light with 20x zooms (which exist only for 16mm or B4 sensors) - necessitating a small-format camera with good low light capabilities to compensate for shooting at slow apertures. What's the best camera for shooting a movie at ISO 12800 in S35? Phedon Papamichael shot A Complete Unknown at high ISO on a Venice 2 - one of Sony's legendary full-frame low light cameras. Is the answer to use a Venice or A1 II 8K FF camera and crop? A Red Gemini? An inexpensive Fujifilm mirrorless like the XH2S? I'd love to hear if anyone here has done something similar.

Michel Rabe Posted July 31, 2025 Posted July 31, 2025 There's also Alexa 35 with the currently best latitude (and highest dynamic range), making it possible to pull up shadows from many stops under. Definitely not RED.
