Fast inspection of scanner glass or lens for dirt and dust with flashlight.

Get a bright flashlight and shine it on the flatbed scanner glass at an angle. (Works on lenses too for internal inspection of dirt / dust.) As I mentioned earlier, you can also scan the glass with the lid open in a dark room to see the condition of the scanner glass. But a flashlight is faster and can be done on the spot intermittently while scanning.
