Mohammed Tahir Posted October 12 Posted October 12 (edited) This is for shooting on 16mm film. The brands I've heard mentioned the most are Schneider, Tiffen and Formatt. I've discovered that there are now filters from SmallRig and NiSi which people seem to rate. I do own a Formatt 85 and a Tiffen ND 0.6. I was looking for a ND 0.3 and 0.9. Is it true that you have to place the filter so that the engraving is pointing away from the camera? Does it matter if the ND filter is an IR ND type when shooting film? Thanks! Premium Member Stewart McLain Posted October 30 Premium Member Posted October 30 I have a couple of the SmallRig ND filters and I think they do the job nicely although I've only shot video with them. Here's what some of the other forum members have to say about the IR thing:
Premium Member Michael Lindsay Posted November 5 Premium Member Posted November 5 Arri's ND's are really good. Very robust and PQ is as good as I have seen. They are half price now? Makes them not crazy money...
