Does anyone have one of these?  I need some information/assistance.  I have a loaner from a friend who bought it at the Clairmont auction back in the day.  It is missing the fuse and the instructions that came with do not specify which fuse or the amperage. Just says if the camera doesn't run check the fuse. Sigh.

The camera is also missing the ground glass (on its way) and the academy cover plate. I have a photo of what it is supposed to look like but if someone has one and could send me some CU photos and possible measure the little screw (instruction manual calls it a "locating post") that would be super helpful. Not sure if the ground glass has some kind of holder or if it just goes in the slot. I'm attaching photos of the loaner and the missing cover plate but if you own one you already know what that looks like. :)

the reference camera I have had the fuse already disabled by bypassing it internally. this is how they had resolved the fuse issue in the past. if it even is a fuse holder, guess it is if other people are saying so :D  I did not find out back then how the original electronics worked because the task was to make new ones so took everything off which was on the way. did not check how this was connected internally because it won't be used on the updated electronics.

replacing the special fuse holder with more common one is not the easiest thing to do it seems. Would be much easier to find some connectors which fit to the receptacle so that you can route wires to external fuse holder holding normal glass fuse so that you can test the camera. If the camera works after that then can figure out the fuse stuff later.

normally this kind of device uses something like a 5A or a 8A fuse. A maximum of 10A but I am pretty sure it would be something like 5A or 8A originally as it does not need more power than couple of amps to run the film. So I would route wires to external fuse holder and try to use a 5A fuse to see if the camera otherwise works.

At your own risk of course. As said I cannot confirm how this was connected originally because my reference camera does not have original connections in place anymore

Thanks so much for your reply, Aapo.  That would be a cunning plan if this were actually my camera but I don't want to risk frying anything!

Hmmm.. hard to tell without dimensions, but that looks like something along the lines of an Eaton GMW type, or more accurately, its holder

There are quite a few fuses with either pins meant to go into sockets or wires meant to go into PC boards, like this one from Bel that might be adaptable

If you've got an hour to kill you can search through the 51,268 different fuse product offered by Mouser

you can drill down by category and if you find a likely candidate, most of the parts will give you a link to a mechanical drawing

That does look like the holder but I don't know the correct amperage...

5amps, I checked my buddy's SCS eyemo today and it was the exact same as the fuses for the XTR.
