Janis Lionel Huber Posted February 18 Posted February 18 Hello Fun story. I took out a screw from the bottom plate, thinking nothing. While shooting later suddenly the cam comes off revealing cables - luckily the camera didn't crash of the tripod. Know we for the fist time figured this plate seems to be a custom mod. While we already wondered about the DVI port in the back we thought nothing more about it. Does anyone know what it's for? Apparently this cam was once part of a science lab. Best
Premium Member Tyler Purcell Posted February 19 Premium Member Posted February 19 Looks like it has 6 cables, so it could be some custom speed controller, perhaps to do Timelapse? If it were just run stop, it would have 2 cables. If it were timecode injection, it would only need 3 or 4 depending on the system. So with 6 cables or more, it's probably for something more complicated, which makes me think speed controller. If you can show where the cable goes into the body and get some detail on how many cables there are, it would help track it down. Also, if you can take a picture of the gate area, we can look for the LED's for timecode writer and/or any other odd bits.
