Gillian Donaldson-Selby Posted April 5 Posted April 5 First let me say that I really appreciate the help offered in this forum! I have been oiling my Filmo 70 DR, removed the winding key and put a few drops in. I replaced the key and now find that the key rotates when the start button is pressed - which it didn't do before. From reading the manual I guess that it is not supposed to? I think the winding key is firmly on - it doesn't seem to want to fall off easily. Is there something I may have missed? The camera does seem to be running very smoothly.
Premium Member Simon Wyss Posted April 6 Premium Member Posted April 6 There are two types of winding keys with Bell & Howell, the early rigid one on a ball chain, it doesn’t hold in the opening, and from 1927 on the folding keys with a ratchet that snap into a bushing of the case. Still they can turn a little when the mechanism is running but can be held with little force, i. e. if you hold the camera in your hands, the key won’t push.
