Hello everyone!

im hoping to get some insights regarding the Zeiss Highspeed S16 50mm lens on ARRi digital cameras. I’ve been able to use the entire Prime set on Alexa 35 and Amira without an issue but the 50mm just doesn’t fit. It seems like the back of the lens is just too wide.

Is this normal or could it just be my specific model of the lens (probably a mk2, from my understanding) or is this just a known limitation?

could there be a work around in some way?

thanks in advance

cheers Tim

hiya!

maybe it would be nice to see apicture? I have the mk3 model and it fits fine in any of the Arri cameras

Is it your a native bayonet to PL adapter?

There's no reason it shouldn't fit, so something is causing an obstruction.

A picture or more information would be helpful.

Is it fitted with an adapter or natively PL mount? Does the rear not even fit into the lens opening or does it go almost all the way? Why do you say the rear is too wide?

Check no mount screws are protruding.

Check the amount of bevel at the corner where the lens PL mount flange meets the rear cylinder, and whether it's too large for the mating camera edge (there should be a bevel around the opening hole of the camera mount).

Hey Nacho, hey Dom,

Thanks for the replies. I just gave it another try after reading your comments, and it worked! I just needed to apply a little more pressure than I was comfortable with at first, which made me hesitant.

I’m guessing the mount on this particular lens is just a tighter fit compared to the other Zeiss S16 lenses I own.

Thanks again!
