Looking for advice regarding a squeaky MYT slider. I bought it last week at an auction for very little money. It’s in excellent cosmetic condition, but as you can see and hear, it doesn’t slide properly. The bearings are clean, the small wheels are clean—everything looks as it should—but it rattles, squeaks, and doesn’t move smoothly at all. MYT’s maintenance advice is not to use oil, so I haven’t.

Has anyone had a similar problem with a MYT slider? What can be done to fix this?

You need to try and work out where the squeak is coming from. Isolate parts and test them.. could be a dry bearing, could be a join that squeaks under directional pressure.

Thank you Dom! I took off each individual bearing and ran it across the rail. Apart from one, the little wheel inside each one squeaks. The whole thing drags when putting pressure on them. These are their patented bearings. I can't see any way to fix them.

Is it a bearing or just a nylon roller on a shaft?

For a nylon roller I‘d try some white lithium grease on the shaft or if you can’t remove it maybe try some PTFE spray.

Nylon is meant to be self-lubricating, but maybe dirt has embedded.
