Gautam Valluri Posted May 21 Posted May 21 I've previously done 35mm to 16mm reductions, and 16mm to 16mm effects work, in colour and BW on the Oxberry Optical printer with excellent results. I was wondering if I could take a contact-printed 16mm colour positive (print stock) and blow it up to 35mm BW negative/ IN? Contrast build-up aside, It should be possible right? The camera side of the Oxberry is seeing a colour image, just like if the same BW negative stock was in a film camera seeing a colour scene? @Dirk DeJonghe@Robert Houllahandid either of you ever do something like this in your respective labs?
Site Sponsor Robert Houllahan Posted May 21 Site Sponsor Posted May 21 Should be possible to do on the ACME optical printer we have. Would require some tests.
Dirk DeJonghe Posted May 23 Posted May 23 You need to use the 2234 B&W intermediate filmstock processed to a gamma of 0,5 for starters. 2
