Moon Adnan Posted July 2 Posted July 2 Just bought a pair of Mole 1K 407s and have my eye on the Mole 2K 412s. From my understanding, lead was used in the paint, and asbestos usually for cushioning the cables and lens. I want to ensure I am using them safely and would appreciate this forum's expertise. I sent an email to Chazz at Lux Lighting who inspected my Arri fresnels last year, awaiting his response. Thank you!

Mark Dunn Posted July 2 Posted July 2 Tend to agree but I might still be concerned about loose fibres of asbestos. If you repaint, when you prep the surface wear a mask. Or if the paint's good, just wash beforehand. I don't think I'd be doing a lot of sanding. 1
Premium Member Aapo Lettinen Posted July 3 Premium Member Posted July 3 Asbestos cloth / woven asbestos would break down more easily than asbestos cement plates/panels. If the wires have woven asbestos insulation I would get it replaced because that would be the biggest source of fibres
