Guest equator
Hello everyone. I was wondering is there maybe a place on the net that you know of that has downloadable 2K (or 4K) scanns of 35mm or 16mm film frames (newer or older film stocks) with maybe film stock number mentioned. I'm not expecting to find all this on one place, but any kind of picture from anywhere would be nice. On kodak website, they only provide small picture examples. The only true 2K image i could found is a non-compressed cineon file of Kodaks digital LAD calibration image.
Guest equator
Ok, can see that nobody know of such files on the net... anyway, can someone at least tell me what film stock is used for that digital LAD image?
Premium Member John Pytlak RIP Posted January 27, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted January 27, 2004 The "Digital LAD" image was shot on EASTMAN EXR 50D Color Negative Film 5245. It actually is from the introduction demo shot for that film ("Sunshine Demo") that included scenes like a carousel and the couple on the beach. Guest equator
I suspected it might be 5245. It looks just as sharp and grainless at 2K as it would at 1K. I wonder does 4K scanning bring out its full potential at all
Premium Member John Pytlak RIP Posted January 28, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted January 28, 2004 I suspect even 4K won't fully capture the detail and quality of that original film image. :)
