Recommended Posts

Hi!

I just shot 2 new dark short films about relationships:

"Abingdon"

http://www.littlegorillafilms.com/abingdon/

and

"Spiderfly"

http://www.littlegorillafilms.com/spiderfly-main.html

The trailers are on my site!

I could totally use feedback and I will be looking for people to

help with post (title design/sound design/mix/etc)

Please take a look and give me a shout.

Best,

Lucas

Not bad at all and perhaps you 'raised questions' with your edit, which is good! Could his facial expressions improve though? And didn't he look a bit 'soft-faced'? Also, might he have carried a more severe expression? She struggled in the chair quite well! Although, a close-up of her tear-filled panic-striken eyes complete with smudged eyeliner might have worked well with a *piercing* scream. I think for this trailer the cuts should have all been quite fast, not just at the end. Might the way that this was cut together improve somewhat and in doing so, shorten the trailer? Sorry to be vague. I wonder if you might benefit from a re-edit...

Thanks guys -- I really appreciate the comments.

I will take a look at making the trailers a little clearer for narrative, but

I am hoping to finish the films soon, so then (they should) make sense. :)

Timshim: In the picture you grabbed above, that's the Panastar II with the C1000

Here's the camera/lens/film info:

Spiderfly: Panastar II

Abingdon: Panaflex GII

http://www.littlegorillafilms.com/abingdon...l/image020.html

On Spiderfly, we used the HS-series lenses and a C1000

On Abingdon, we used a combination of HS/USG series lenses

Spiderfly was 2 stocks : 5285 and 7239 (for 35mm)

Abingdon was also 2 stocks: 5277 and 5218

Your second trailer, "Spiderfly" was quite good. It caught my attention when I saw the infamous "one finger salute". After that, whilst the flow/theme/idea felt alright, perhaps the content of the visual drama wasn't exactly interesting to me. What you did was alright, it wasn't that I felt there was something wrong in there, I just felt that you needed a bit more 'ummphhh' in there somewhere, either in the form of something deep and meaningful or perhaps an exciting 'event'. You know what I mean? Alright, if he had the character and look of, say, Clint, then great, we could examine and enjoy his facial growls and the way he reacts to his environment, but, you'd still need a shoot out or something like that, at some point.
