Guest David Higgs Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 I'm about to do a two day shoot which will be in B & W. I'll be shooting on the D-20 which I've played with before about a year ago. It'll probably be in 422 recording to an SR deck. Obviously a lot of this look we can do in the grade. Any suggestions about how what I can do at the camera head end? When I used the camera it had no menu system. I gather it has now. I?ll be going in before hand to test, but would like to a bit for armed All best, david
Annie Wengenroth Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 The D-20 has a menu system which you can view from your onboard monitor via composite signal. The software has been updated so its' easier to navigate through. You're probably better off using the most "neutral" gamma curve setting. Where are you located? We have 4 D-20s at CSC here in NY; you could come in and talk to our tech and he would be able to point you in the right direction. Good luck!
Jeff_Flohr_DIT Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Do you have a DIT on your shoot? I would interface my monitor to run a B&W LUT so that you could light to the B&W image but still record raw to the SRW-1 and do the desaturation in post. You could of course burn the LUT to tape as long as we were in RGB mode. I've had great success burning LUT's to tape in the 4:4:4 RGB setting with this camera...
