Hello,

My names is James Erd. I usually post in the 16-mm only section. Today i have a special request to make. I founded a group to bring filmmakers of all experience levels together in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are called the Gorilla Film Troupe Conspiracy. If you would like to know more about us, please visit us at:

I may also be reached directly by email: rakker16mm@yahoo.com

The NSA may be looking into us as we speak, so I'm "quietly" requesting folks to take a look at their software collection for programs they are no longer using. We don't have our 501-3c status yet, but you can still get that warm feeling, knowing that you've done something very special for budding filmmakers. We are interested in software for both PC and Mac platforms.

Thank very kindly for your time,

James Erd

Thank you. Very few of our members are fortunate enough to be students, so the student discount is not really an option. That why I am asking for people to donate what they no longer have use for. For instance, I am donating a copy of Final Cut Express HD, as I have FCP Studio. I am working under the premiss that old software is better than no software at all. Of course if some one is feeling real generous I be happy to put it into the hands of budding filmmakers.

Editing programs? Avid is notoriously cheap if you're a student:

I'm in the LA area but that group sounds like a good idea.
