Nate Downes Posted July 20, 2004 Posted July 20, 2004 I've been debating on converting a Double 8mm or a 16mm camera over to Double Super 8mm and have been wondering, which pieces would have to be altered to make the change work? I know the frame advance will have to be shortened on the 16mm, and the gates changed on both, but anything else I need to know about?
Mitch Gross Posted July 21, 2004 Posted July 21, 2004 Don't know how possible this really is. The big difference is the pull down claw must be much smaller and in a different location. You can always file it down but how would you alter the position?

The Bolex Rex (H8 and H16 models) convert to DS8 as does the Canon Scoopic and Pathe Duolight. Not sure how they do it,but I'm sure the have to gear everything down. Also the optics change as well. Nate Downes Posted July 21, 2004 Author Posted July 21, 2004 I had someone mail me the different measurements, and it looks more than possible for my Keystone or Filmo. Would be interesting to see if it works.
