Jack Honeycutt Posted August 8, 2004 Posted August 8, 2004 Folks.... After reading about the many film cleaners (& lubricates/conditioners/anti static etc), I am very confused. It seems that part of it is good science and part of it magic. I use Ecco VSF299. But trying to find out what is in it, and how it compares to, say, Ecco 1500 has been impossible for me. I tried to find the company that makes it so I could read a data sheet. Electro-Chemical Products Corp does not have a web site or phone number. I bought two expensive Kodak books on movie film hoping to see if they could give me some basic information on film cleaners. I bought Kodak Publication # H-1 Cat 155-2280 "Kodak Motion Picture Film". I also bought Kodak Publication # H-23 Cat 121-1317 "The Book of Film Care". No specific informaiton on what makes up a good film cleaner, and no recommendations as to which cleaner to buy. Film supply businesses are filed with many vendor's film cleaner & lub. What would be a good publication or data sheet to read to learn about film cleaners and lubs, and which cleaners are good choices. Thanks. jack
