Dolly wheels

Those are skate board wheels. really easy to find. I personally like using roller skate wheels. The type that are mostly plastic rim with maybe 1/2" of rubber. It prevents flatspots that thicker rubber might present with.

I think your main question is the trucks the wheels attach to? I did it by taking 90 degree angle iron, and drilling holes in the middle of each face (one hole per wheel) then I drilled two mounting holes directly through the center (where the two faces meet at an angle) then the wheels attach with a bolt to the faces, and the trucks attach to the bottom of the board with bolts through the center. If I get some time tonight I will post some pics of the dolly I built. With the propper jig and technique, no measuring is neccisary, except when your attaching the trucks to the board to make sure they are square. The best part is if you drill your mounting holes off center, you can use the truck itself as a jig to center the drill bit to the board, ensuring the truck aligns perfectly.

wow, that sounds pretty challenging. thank goodness i'll be having someone help me. the picture i included above is from the dolly kit available for $400 at longvalleyequip.com. i figured if I just find the wheels and plyboard, with my friend's help, I can make a dolly for far less than $400. but it might be worth the money to avoid the challenge of what you describe.

Glideshot has a holiday sale on their GS1 kits. That includes the wheels and pivoting baseplates. All you have beyond the kit is plywood for the platform and some kind of a push/pull bar.

Here's link to a closed Glideshot eBay auction.

Unfortunately, I missed the sale, but their site looks pretty cost-effective compared to another company that offers similar kits:

Thanks for the link.

Unfortunately, I missed the sale,

If you call Glideshot they will sell you a set at the sale price. Ebay is a form of Advertising for Glideshot and many other companies.

Don't be shy=always ask for a discount-they can only say no
