only remotely sticking to the topic... but,

does anyone know how many degrees per rev for the pan and tilt in the different gears?

thinking of making my own head, but wanted the gearing to be similar...

also, if you know the direction in relation to handle turning direction that would be helpful..

thanks,

david

Wheel on the back -

Turning right = Up

Left = Down

Wheel on right side -

Turning Left (down) = Pan Left

Turning Right (up) = Pan Right

On my Mitchell approx. 16,5 rev. for 90 degree pan on gear 1. A little over 5 for that on gear 3. Tiltwheel 8 rev. for about 45 degrees on gear 1, 2 and two third rev. 45 deg on gear 3.

Take my advice: buy a used Mitchell. Geared heads are mechanical precision wonders.

But good luck anyway.

I know you know this Kevin, but you mean the wheel on the 'left' side.
