Daniel Christie
Hey all, Can anyone tell me if it is possible to output a DV25 downconverted signal from the HDX's firewire port from or while recording to tape in DVCPRO HD? Cheers, Daniel

Daniel Christie
The downconvert is only for one of the video out feeds. So does that mean that down conversion is only an option for SDI and analogue outs, or could it potentially be used for conversion to 576i (in PAL land) DV25 or DV50? I know some of the decks can do it, but I suspect that the HDX cannot. Can you confirm this? Thanks heaps, Daniel
Mitch Gross
The downconverter in the HDX900 is only for the SD-SDI or composite video output. It will not send a DV25 or DV50 feed. Whether shooting at 720p or 1080i, when shooting at frame rates of 24, 30 or 60 the downconvert is NTSC and when shooting at 25 or 50 the downconvert is PAL. Nothing but HD through the Firewire.
