In your humble opinions what do you believe are the better compact cameras delievering better pics. I'd like to have a small camera on hand always and would like to know if one stands out there in compactness and quality of picture. Thanks.

Without considering the price of the camera, this got to be the Leicina Special with 10mm Cinegon. It is very compact and can take high quality images. I took mine to Disneyland early this year and spent 10 rolls. Result is superb.

You may want to take a closer look at the Elmo Album focus free S8 camera which has 2-in-1 lenses; one 8.6 - 18mm zoom that can be flipped away to reveal a second Super Wide angle 4.6mm lens. Handy and excellent camera.

You may take a look here: http://home.pacbell.net/mnyberg/super8mm/super8_26.html

This camera builds over the same concept but the Album is pretty much more compact and neat and easily slips into a pocket.

Then you are not limited to a focal length of the rather narrow 10mm and it can be bought for a few bucks. Performs beautifully.

I haven't used either of those cameras, but the Leicina is supposed to be nice.

I've used the Nikon Super Zoom 8, and while it's not as versatile and doesn't have quite as nice glass as the Nikon R-10, it gives a pretty decent image, and it's tiny, tiny, tiny and easy to use.

Who did the processing and did you transfer the results to video yet?

Who did the processing and did you transfer the results to video yet?

Film was sent to Kodak Fair Lawn and most likely processed by Dwayne's in Kansas. This is the only known K40 developer in the US.

I haven't transfered them to video yet since I'm working on my WorkPrinter right now to install a camera. My family enjoy watching the film using a projector anyway on a huge screen using an Elmo Xenon projector. I'm not concerned about transfering them to video yet. I can do that later on even after 50 years! This is the beauty of Super 8.
