GeorgeSelinsky
I was wondering, how do you go about finding a Unit Production Manager? I'm looking to do a low budget feature in the New York area. Thanks for all advice in advance...
timHealy
If you are doing a low or no budget movie, often the production manager is doing what a unit manager will be doing. The understanding I have is that a unit manager is for larger films and TV shows and is kind of the right arm of the PM. And actually on many larger films, one of the producers may also be the production manager. So if you are doing low budget you may have a producer doing all three roles. Thanks for all advice in advance... Other than working your network/grapevine for recommendations you can start by posting an ad on Mandy.com www.mandy.com I'm a line producer and PM in NYC, feel free to shoot me an e-mail if you have questions. Jesus Sifuentes
You could get a DGA signatory and have a professional UPM on your set. It's called a DGA's Low Budget Sideletter Level 1a http://dga.org/index2.php3?chg=
