Site Sponsor Robert Houllahan Posted May 21, 2008 Site Sponsor Share Posted May 21, 2008 Can anyone tell me how well the HVX200 & sony EX1 match up look wise ? I've got to shoot something with both cameras and im a little concerned about them matching. I used both recently for very different projects, a EX1 for a Corporate interview and a HVX for part of a music video. The first thing I would ask is "what are you shooting?" and the second would be what is your delivery format? Web, SD some flavor of HD? Setup of camera's, etc... These factors are going to go a long way when you think about matching these cameras. -Rob-
Jonathan Bowerbank
With these two cameras, the difference is in the lens. I'm very happy with the Fujinon glass the EX1 has, and it's quite different from the HVX200 glass. You'll have a lot of room in post if you're wanting to match them up. Just try and film complete scenes with one camera. If you're shooting scenes that haven't had any portion shot yet, you should be fine even without any matching correction. Mitch Gross
If you have the scopes and the knowledge to use them, the EX1 has image controls deep enough to get it to match with the HVX200.
