Premium Member Michael Lehnert Posted July 29, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted July 29, 2008 Here's a quiz I have been forced to play by my editor today; so everyone else here can suffer from it as well (I know, I have a sick humour): Name That Camera! Focal length: fixed, 22mm. Maximum ISO: 800. Maximum aperture: f/3.5. Field of view: 180 degrees. Resolution: 576 megapixels. Enjoy the obvious, -Michael

Premium Member Michael Lehnert Posted July 29, 2008 Author Premium Member Share Posted July 29, 2008 Easy one. The human eye. Hey, Dave! That means one pint of stout on me should you be in London, or a decent Heurige on me should I be in Vienna! At least someone isn't as "camera"-centric as I was this morning, me fool! (don't ask what I thought about when it was put to me  )

K Borowski
Just an 800 ISO? I would have thought it'd be at least 3200. Or is that just for cones and not rods? Oh, and what is the equivalent resolution in lp/mm??? ;) Edited July 29, 2008 by Karl Borowski
Premium Member Max Jacoby Posted July 29, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted July 29, 2008 Maximum aperture: f/3.5. Hmm, I'll check with Zeiss to get a little speed upgrade there.
Premium Member John Sprung Posted July 29, 2008 Premium Member Share Posted July 29, 2008 Just an 800 ISO? I would have thought it'd be at least 3200. Actually, ISO speed isn't defined for the human eye. The range of stops is actually more like f/2 to f/8. The focal length varies, because that's how we focus, by squeezing the lens to shorter focal lengths for close objects. -- J.S.
Ira Ratner
180 degrees? This must have something to do with security cameras, like for an ATM.
