Allen Achterberg
I've used black mouse pads in the past for emergency times. I always keep one in my kit. Best Allen
Keith Bronsdon
You can get sheets of neoprene at fabric stores that carry "outdoor fabrics". Here in Seattle I bought some from Seattle Fabrics, which specialized in materials that they use to make backpacks, outdoor stuff, etc. They carry neoprene in various thicknesses--also with nylon backing and even with the soft side of velcro on one side of the neoprene. There must be a similar store where you live. Does anybody know where one can buy some blank neoprene material to make lens shade doughnuts? michael a brierley
Back in Africa, we used to make them out of car tire tubes, worked pretty well, got a good, snug fit over the lens.
Jonathan Bowerbank
I've used black mouse pads in the past for emergency times. I always keep one in my kit. Same here, I've used one many times. Just cut a whole and there you go! A donut isn't a sophisticated piece of equipment anyways, so just go cheap if you can.

DGusset
Any dive shop or place that does wetsuit repairs will have neoprene (& hopefully won't even charge you for a scrap) - and it comes in various thicknesses
