The Battle of Algiers

I just want to recommend the film The Battle of Algiers, which has just recently been released on DVD.

 

Fantastic film, great b&w cinematography. I love it when you feel close to the action. It feels like the camera is never further away than an arms reach from the actors. (All though, it of course is, at times...)

 

Highly recommended.

I second that, a great film. Did you notice when the Special Forces arrive on scene, that the parade scene in Red Dawn is etremely close, sometimes almost shot for shot? It must've been an inspiration for the makers of Red Dawn.
