Jo Laurits Aksdal
If HMI is short for Hydrargyrum Medium arc-length Iodide, are there small and large arc-lengths as well? Just wondering? But, how many sizes of HMI's are there anyway? Thanx Edited December 6, 2004 by JoLauritsAksdal

Premium Member John Pytlak RIP Posted December 8, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted December 8, 2004 The Xenon lamps intended for 35mm film projection are generally of a "short arc" design, and range from 1000 watts to 7000 watts: http://www.osram.de/pdf/service_corner/XENON-SHORT-ARC.pdf

Premium Member Laurent Andrieux Posted December 9, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted December 9, 2004 We also have 20 kW HMI over here. As for the smaller powers, I guess you mean 125 instead of 123, but I have a 125/200 dimmable portable one that I love and a 16 w that fits perfectly in a car as well as on a camera.
