Guest Steve Posted December 5, 2004 Posted December 5, 2004 I have recently aquired an ELMO SUPER 8 SOUND 1012S-XL camera.I have not yet gotten any film for it.I am new to super 8 and I wanted to find out what the best film for me was so I checked out the internet. Some how I found a site that said the camera accepts 60 metre cassettes.I figure this isnt the usual. What are these, where can I buy them and get them processed.By the way is this camera any good? Any help would be great.
Nate Downes Posted December 5, 2004 Posted December 5, 2004 The 60 meter hasn't been produced in years. However, a new reloadable 120 meter has come onto the market. Film can be gotten from the usual sources, but Pro8mm is probably the best bet.
Guest Steve Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 Thanks for the reply. On another note on that same camera there is a small bit of vignetting in the lower right corner when filming but I don't know how it fairs out on film yet. Can anyone suggest a way to get rid of this or minimize it? I am in Ireland so If I purcahse some film (kodachrome 40) over the net from america, will that have processing included where the processing will be done in switzerland? Cheers.
Nate Downes Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 probably you can't. A lot of cameras have vinetting in the area that is typically cropped by the projection gate, sad to say. Even some 16mm's have this problem that I've run across.
