Drew Bienemann
I was on B&H today checking out some lights, and I saw that they had listed both an Arri STUDIO Fresnel 1k and an Arri LOCATION Fresnel 1k. What's the difference? The mount? The power cable? Does one come with scrims/ barndoors and the other not?
Premium Member Tim Terner Posted April 26, 2009 Premium Member Share Posted April 26, 2009 Studio Fresnel will have a yoke on it. To convert to put on a stand you'll need one of these http://www.bhphotovideo.com/images/images345x345/124760.jpg
Brian Drysdale
The most important difference is that the location lights are more compact than the studio versions. You should check them out at the Arri web site. The location lights' lens have a smaller diameter.
Martin Solvang
Studio lights are operational from below. A real hustle on location when it comes to tilting.
