Film to be use

Hi Guys,

 

Im new in super 8mm filming. Do you have any idea what film is suitable for my sankyo xl-420 supertronic? Im planning to shoot a wedding.(indoor and outdoor shoot).

i have kodachrome sound film for sale

guarranteed decent exposure

your camera will take E64 silent film, but you will have to manually adjust the exposure. If you do not do this, the film might be over exposed or under exposed, if this happens you have a fair chance that the footage will still come out ok.

 

Because you have a sound camera, that does not mean you have to buy sound film, this is no longer available new or fresh. Normal super8 film will fit in your camera fine.

Hi, if you plan to use auto exposure, then use either k40 ( wittner chrome 40 ) or wittner 50d, if your happy to use manual exposure, kodaks 64t is the cheapest film stock option, also look at wittner 100d, with a fast lens and reasonable light levels, youll get away with 100d for interior scenes too... Run a test film thru that camera before the wedding day!!!

You might want to consider Kodak Vision2 200T for the interiors too. If you go that route you will have to get a proper transfer of the footage tho as film chain style transfers (workprinter etc) aren't so good with neg stock.

I have also Sankyo xl-420 sounds supertronic. I plan to also use kodak´s asa500 film (or asa200, I want to film in low light). Do you guys think it is possible, any experience with that?
