Super/Regular 35 for 3perf 2:35

In the early days of three perf, the late 1980's, it was used for 4:3 TV with Academy centering. This is because 4:3 is limited by the height in three perf, and the tubes of the Rank Cintel telecines had a burn-in problem. The sound track area would be significantly brighter than the Academy picture area. They devised a compensation for that, and soon Academy centered three perf was history.

2.39 is limited by the width even in Super centered three perf, so going Academy would be a very bad idea.
