Mike McLaughlin
Hey Everyone, I have a pseudo "package truck" in the states and I'm want to move to Canada with it. I'm just worried that I will have to pay a lot in import taxes. Do you know what it is needed to cross the border? Carnet? Thanks for the help! - Mike McLaughlin

Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted January 13, 2010 Premium Member Share Posted January 13, 2010 Canada is also a Carnet country, which should cover you, but again, speak with customs. http://www.atacarnet.com/CountriesandTerri...ATACarnets.aspx
Stuart Brereton
Carnets are for temporary export & import of goods. If you're planning a permanent move you'll need to talk to Customs.
Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted January 14, 2010 Premium Member Share Posted January 14, 2010 Ahh my mistake, I misunderstood the "move to" as a temporary thing.
