Eden Tan Soon Kong
Hi, am in the production support for the past 3 years. Finally realized my direction is to become a DOP. Had asked around for advise. Many of them told me not to go to film school as it's a waste of time. but look for a good DOP workshop instead. Does anyone can recommend me a good one? Thanks. Brian Drysdale
That really depends on what type of production you want to work on. You won't learn that much on a one or two day workshop or even a week, unless you've got some background. You could check these, although most people on the higher level workshops tend have backgrounds in the camera dept., rather than people with no experience. http://www.workshopsinternational.com/film-video/ Most film schools probably aren't that great, but the best schools can enable industry contacts and teach other aspects of being a good DP.
