Lance Tang
Here is the video I am talking about. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAktw3rU22k It looks like the quality of the image is just superb, but I can't really figure out why (maybe lighting? color correction?). To me it almost looks like HDR. How can this be achieved in the editing room?
Frank Glencairn
Can´t be achieved in the editing room. You need good footy to start with. Frank
Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted October 1, 2010 Premium Member Share Posted October 1, 2010 Also, I suspect that's Red or an EX or something - notice what looks like rolling shutter banding in the strobe flashes. I'm not sure there's anything that special about that. Doesn't look like HDR to me, in fact the blacks are quite crushed. It's contrasty (which I generally like). Jeremy M Lundborg
No HDR involved here. Like the above posters noted it's just simply well teched and shot. What I mean is that the production design, wardrobe, makeup, and lighting design is very solid. Not my personal style but solid. Just like it should be, it's been coordinated through pre-production with a very clear visual goal in mind. Then it is color corrected and spliced together in post, pretty straight forward. If anything it's just very contrasty.
