Tasma, Orwo, Foma, and Svema film stocks?

I have tested Fomapan B/W 16mm reversal film, and it's a very beautifull stock with rich blacks and a lot of contrast. You can get more information at My link"]http://www.foma.cz/[/url]. There's an english and spanish version if that page. The processing of fomapan it's not easy, as you can read in a lot of forums.

Best regards.

I tested Orwo UN54 couple of years ago... only home developing to b/w neg.

I pretty much liked it's grain texture and mild contrast. Looks like old low con news footage to me. I think it's worth testing.

Andec and Wittner in Germany have it, I don't know about US deals.

Orwo as a company are relatively easy to deal with.

Svema turned the lights off and locked the door in 2000

Tasma are still in business. They have a web site and it now has a few pages in English. They appear to still make mp films. I have made a few overtures to them in the past and found it very difficult. At one point I was told they only have one MP film and it is in 35mm only. According to their site, however there appear to be a few and in 16, 35 and 70 (the Russians didn't use 65). It would be great if someone was able to act as an intermediary so that this stock can become available. Perhaps a noble sole in the Ukraine or Russia could help us...

It's OK if you don't understand. Neither do I. . .

Is it easy to talk to Orwo/Filmotec GMBH? Because it is not easy to talk to their American distributor. . . :-/

Anyone have any leads or contact information? Anyone have any experience with any of these stocks?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers

I just started selling Fomapan Super 8mm Cartridges on Ebay. I am sold out at the moment, but will have more in a couple of weeks. post-51049-0-25338300-1297635687.jpg

Interesting? is foma adding these to the line, or are the being loaded by a third party?

Foma is NOT adding these to their line. They are custom loads done by Spectra Film in Burbank, CA. They are slit from DS8 stock and loaded into Kodak Carts. Svema started doing this just before they went out. I dont know why Foma never considered this.
