Superimposing

Hi, I'm looking to get into superimposing. Can anyone fill me in on what I need to know? I have plenty of experience superimposing in still photography but I'm obviously not depending on that. Has anyone here had and experience with movie film superimposing? If it helps the kind of stuff I'm trying to do is for use of the shots that Alfred Hitchcock would do. Is there any possibility of doing superimposing or is it a huge and expensive process? So if anyone could help me out it'd be much appreciated.

The Japanese Single-8 camera design is ideal for what you want to do. The whole cartridge can be rewound and I think there is a digital frame counter as well. Another tricky way to do super-impositioning is to have complete control over the lighting and do multiple flashes per frame by keeping the Super-8 Camera in the time-exposure mode (assuming your camera can do time-exposure.
