Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted February 9, 2012 Author Premium Member Share Posted February 9, 2012 What size Lightpad were you using? For that matter, what size Lightpad do you find yourself most going for? Something bigger like a 12" x 12" for fill or something smaller like a 3" x 6" for an eyelight? I think I have the 3" x 6". Andy_Alderslade
The trailer looks great. I really love that shot on the bridge, you just have enough light in the sky to show the hills, perfect.
Freya Black
Not sure it's quite the right place for this but there is a FANTASTIC talk by David Mullen in this video, and you can see him talking like a real person and everything! The magic of video! Anyway he covers Manure mostly but there is a bit about Big Sur in there too! Thought I learnt quite a bit just from watching the video, so I suggest you check it out: http://howtofilmschool.com/david-mullen-cinematographer-abelcine-arri/ Freya
Andy_Alderslade
Thanks to Freya for posting that. And thanks to David for such a brilliant talk - really enjoyed it, covered many of the biggest and craft aspects relevant today.

Pat Murray
Worth noting - I apologize if this has already been mentioned - that Big Sur was accepted into the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. A tought festival to get into with so many films entered, bravo to Dave and the rest of the team. I tried to see the film, but I could never work it into my festival schedule. Much the pity. Hopefully I'll get another chance to see it on the big screen later this year. Fingers crossed.
Rafael Rivera
The February 2013 issue of Digital Video (dv.com) has an interview with David Mullen on p.26 about this production. It's a great experience to have followed this entire thread up to the film's debut. Looking forward to its screening near San Francisco.
