kevin jackman Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 does anybody have one, use one, know how they work? I think they are red-green. Been wondering if they might be converted to polarized.
Premium Member Dom Jaeger Posted May 3, 2011 Premium Member Posted May 3, 2011 Never got my hands on one, but I have a manual here somewhere. Temporarily misplaced it. From memory they were polarised, used 2 Kern Yvar lenses, with a projector attachment and a parallax adjusting mechanism. It was recommended to use a special high luminance screen for projection, which Bolex also sold. I don't think it took off, so not many were made. Consequently rather rare.
kevin jackman Posted May 3, 2011 Author Posted May 3, 2011 I wonder how sharp the images are. Im thinking Id like to experiment with the stereo and the anomorphot if I can find them affordably.
kevin jackman Posted May 4, 2011 Author Posted May 4, 2011 Im also wondering what the difference is between the rectangular and circular yvar units.
kevin jackman Posted May 25, 2011 Author Posted May 25, 2011 does anybody know if both types of bolex stereo lenses can work on a reflex bolex? I read the rectangular unit only works on non reflex cameras. is there a quality difference between the image output between them?
Leo Anthony Vale Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 does anybody know if both types of bolex stereo lenses can work on a reflex bolex? I read the rectangular unit only works on non reflex cameras. is there a quality difference between the image output between them? The circular unit is actually a close up attachment which fits onto the basic unit. The rears of the 12.5mm Yvars is far to close to the film plane tobe able to clear the prism.
kevin jackman Posted May 27, 2011 Author Posted May 27, 2011 Bummer was hoping the 3d would work on a reflex camera.
kevin jackman Posted May 27, 2011 Author Posted May 27, 2011 Anybody know if it will work on any other camera thats rflex like an eclair npr? It this or the Elmo system but I dont know its quality and know it wont cover 16mm
