David Calson Posted May 11, 2011 Share Posted May 11, 2011 I'm using one of these cylinder 250w bulbs in a big china ball, http://www.filmtools.com/nehoba2532qu.html Never had much experience gelling those so I wondered what the best way is to do such a thing. Doug Frerichs Posted May 12, 2011 Share Posted May 12, 2011 I've made a cage of sort made out of wire that fit around the light, to which I would put the gel around, saving it from touching the light and melting. Kind of a pain to make, and they're pretty jerry rigged, but once they're made and put into place they do the job pretty well. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
John David Miller Posted June 24, 2011 Share Posted June 24, 2011 Get several of the paper frames and pick one out to destroy. Cut it in half and lay it flat. Lay it out over a large enough piece of gel and use it as a template. Use small binderclips to clip it to the inside of the ball. Make several cuts with different shades and Bob's your..
