Anthony Frattaroli
I've recently come across a Super 16 lens I've been unable to find information on, and I wonder if any of you folks might know something about it. It's a Taylor Hobson 10-30 T1.5 lens (marked "Cooke 3X10" on the front ring). It's a fairly large lens with a PL mount, currently sporting an Aaton adapter Google has come up empty on this one, so I have no idea what sort of history or reputation these lenses have got. Worth using? Worth selling?
Premium Member Dom Jaeger Posted September 13, 2011 Premium Member Share Posted September 13, 2011 We've got one in our rental fleet, it just went out on a job for the first time in yonks so I had a good look at it on a projector collimator. It's a beautiful lens, probably the nicest S16 zoom I've seen - pin sharp edge to edge, no distortion, minimal breathing, and virtually no image degradation even fully open (at T1.5 no less!) - just a slight veiling glare that reduces contrast. Only drawbacks are the size and weight. Definitely worth using.

Worth using? Worth selling? Hi Anthony, I am looking for a good super 16mm zoom. Are you still interested in selling your Taylor Hobson 10-30mm T1.5?
