Premium Member Stephen Williams Posted March 29, 2012 Premium Member Share Posted March 29, 2012 What are the parameters for RED in Low Key lighting? What do you mean? shoot as contrasty as you want, it's art not a technical thig.
Baburam
What do you mean? shoot as contrasty as you want, it's art not a technical thig. I just want to know the limitations and advantages. As I heard there are grains in low light areas, is it true? Some one suggested me to have more intensity and close the iris but I think it is same as to shoot on open iris except the difference of depth of field. Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted April 1, 2012 Premium Member Share Posted April 1, 2012 There is noise if you under-expose too far and try to pull it up, as there is with all cameras. I personally find that treating the RED as any other video camera works just well. I like to shoot a little bit flatter than I normally would with film; expose for my highlights, and crush shadows to taste later on to get the cleanest images. You'd need to sit down with the camera for a test, however, to develop your own aesthetic for the shoot at hand.
